Build Your Daily Routine

Everything in this course comes down to one thing: a small session you'll actually repeat. Here's a ten-minute template built from all of it.

The ten-minute session

  • 0:00–1:30 — Warm up. Jaw, lips, tongue, voice.
  • 1:30–4:00 — Drill one sound. Just one. Slow and exaggerated, then normal size. Words only.
  • 4:00–7:00 — Put it in sentences. Same sound, now in context. Record at least one.
  • 7:00–9:00 — Listen back and adjust. Find one thing. Fix that one thing.
  • 9:00–10:00 — Speak freely. Talk about your day for a minute, trying to keep the sound alive. This is where practice becomes speech.

That last minute is the one people skip, and it's the most important. A sound that only works in drills hasn't transferred yet.

Choosing what to work on

Work on one sound per week. Pick it because it shows up constantly in your speech, or because people misunderstand you on it — not because it's the most interesting.

When a sound reaches stage 4 (it comes out right without thinking), rotate it out and bring in the next. Revisit old sounds occasionally; they fade, but they come back fast.

Carry it into real life

The goal was never to be good at exercises. Pick one daily situation — ordering coffee, a work call, a voice message — and consciously apply your sound there. Real conversation is where practice turns into an accent.

Watch out for

  • Redesigning the routine instead of doing it — Planning feels like progress. It isn't. A mediocre routine done daily beats a perfect one done never.
  • Never leaving the drills — Word lists are the training ground, not the destination.

💡 Ten minutes a day, one sound a week, one real conversation. That's the whole method — everything else is detail.
